Orange County Property Appraiser Rick Singh has brought a rich and extensive level of experience to his role as the county’s Chief Real Estate Appraiser. A business minded elected official and champion for fairness and equality for all, Mr. Singh has served with distinction.
Over 20 years ago, he joined the Orange County Property Appraiser’s office, and became a State-Certified Residential Appraiser. He left the office in 1996 to pursue his entrepreneurial interests in real estate.
In addition to being a State-Certified Residential Appraiser, Rick is a real estate broker, and has earned both the Certified Florida Appraiser (CFA) and Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designations. He is qualified in a wide range of valuation applications, including financial reporting, tax compliance, corporate finance, restructurings, and litigation support. In fact, Rick has appraised over 250 billion dollars of real estate. Rick has owned his own industry leading appraisal firm, as well as a successful real estate company.
Since taking office, Rick has returned more than $237 million to the Orange County Tax Roll by vigorously pursuing fraudulent exemption claims, and has done all this while reducing his office budget and returning over $2 million to the county. Additionally, Rick has revamped how the Orange County Property Appraiser’s office conducts business by improving appraisal practices, doubling the number of State Certified Field Appraisers, and utilizing new and innovative technology.
Having made Orlando his home for more than 25 years, Rick is active in the community, and holds memberships in numerous community and business organizations. Rick serves on the boards of the American Lung Association – Southeast Chapter, the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association, the International Association of Assessment Officers, and serves as the Honorary Chairperson of Florida Diversity.
